About training with us.
We fly out of KMQJ Indianapolis Regional Airport but will relocate to another airport for a nominal charge depending on your location and other factors.
We have two airplanes:
7GCAA Citabria is $250 / hour including instructor, fuel, and taxes
8KCAB Super Decathlon is $300 / hour including instructor, fuel, and taxes
Ground instruction is charged at $75 / hour
We offer dual only, no solo flight is authorized due to insurance restrictions.
Maximum student weight is 250lbs due to weight and balance restrictions.
You must have at least a Private Pilot Certificate.
You should be current and proficient. Learning to fly tailwheel while also refreshing or developing your basic flying skills will extend your training time. We are happy to help you improve your basic airmanship but expect additional hours and cost.
We accept cash, check, Zelle, and Venmo with no additional fees. Our preferred method is Zelle. See invoice for details. Payment is expected at time of service.
Flight reviews, IPCs, aircraft check outs, tailwheel currency and discovery flights are prepaid.
About nausea…
Some students will experience nausea during spin or upset recovery training. There are airsick bags in the cockpit. PLEASE let us know if you are feeling ill and we will stop. You may take Dramamine before your flight as you are not acting as the PIC. Should you need to discontinue your flight, we do not offer refunds. If you need a secondary flight to finish, you will be billed for any excess hours of flight/ground time that is allotted for the course.
Other services we offer:
Flight Review in your aircraft ~$250
Check out in your aircraft ~$250 minimum
Proficiency training in your aircraft $100 / hour, $250 minimum
Tailwheel currency is $250 minimum in our Citabria, $150 minimum in your airplane
Rusty Pilot?
If you haven’t flown in several months or more, expect that it may take additional time to develop your tailwheel skills. Our training estimates are geared toward current, proficient pilots who want to sharpen their skills and expand their envelope through tailwheel or advanced flight training.
You should be able to communicate on the radio, taxi, takeoff, fly a consistent traffic pattern (position, altitude, and airspeed adjusting for winds), and land in your current airplane.
If you are unsure, we’re happy to start with an introductory flight to assess your proficiency and to provide an honest assessment of the time we feel it will take to complete your endorsement.
